Airport Dramatic Play

Recently a lot of my families have mentioned that they will be taking off on a trip somewhere warm or they have just returned.  I thought it would be great to focus awhile on air travel.

Here is our new dramatic play area - The Airport.

The Airport check in area. Computer, tickets, baggage tags and more.

Another view of the check in area.

Flight schedules and language charts (how to say hello in all the languages that are spoken by our families).

The airplane.

The airport opened this morning and was very busy.

 Our airport security check in.
After the flight we need a destination - a tropical beach?

In a couple of weeks we will go on a fieldtrip to our local airport.  We also will go on a walk at our airpark which is for small private planes and float planes.

  1. This is really great. So many different parts to play out and experiment with. They look so intent in their play. Great idea!

  2. Love this! (we had children in our gym pretending to go on vacation and lay on the beach!) I think they may be tired of winter and the cold around here! This may just be what we need!

  3. This is a really cool idea. Children just love to take imaginative trips on planes don't they? Here in Australia it is ALWAYS to sunny Queensland!

  4. Love this idea. I plan on adapting your play to my middle & high schoolers end of camp experience! Thank you for getting the wheels turning
